WHO HERE IS SUING THREE     Post a reply to this message

I notice that there are a few people looking to take 3 to court or actually in the process of doing so.

As I am in that group, specifically encountering the same problems as techno492, ilove3 and dave54 I feel that we should all get together and publicise what is happening here in the papers as my general impression is that 3 feel that they can steam roller over the individual and it all go away.

So I'm thinking of a capaign of negative but truthful publicity in the press and through watchdog etc...

If you are up for it please e-mail me at [email protected]

whimper, dave54, selimbuyukdogan, techno492 please get in touch

Having read all the posts on here it is clear that 3 watch this board so i'll be keeping an eye out for you pretending to be an agrieved party and getting in touch.

Lets see a nice little piece on the wires on "Buyer beware- parents buying their kids 3 mobiles for xmas only to find that if their kids are in danger or need to be contacted then the 3 network will let them down because the coverage ain't was CS or the map say it is"

Or how about "Watch goals on your mobile - but no one said anything about making calls from it"

The follow ups and spin offs are endless but why let the all the good stuff out the bag right now.

further to my original post - had a conversation yesterday with the executive office and they say the contract with them started on 23 sept 2005 (the day NI Upgrades Ltd aka Upgrades Direct aka The Fonebox of Macclesfield Cheshire) phoned me to offer a ten day free trial of a 3 handset.

Apparently, according to 3, they dont neeed a signature on a contract anymore to lock you into one - just a phone conversation with a dubious sales company will do. the fact that i signed and dated the contract on 4 october 2005 is totally irrelevant. (the dates are important here cos i cancelled the contract on 12 oct 2005 and 3 say this is outside the 14 day cooling off).

on this basis any sales company can merely tell 3 that an individual has agrred over the phone to enter into a contract and theres nothing you can do if YOU don't cancel within 14 days (always assuming you knew this was going on behind your back)

THE WORLD BEWARE !!!!! you are all at risk of becoming contracted to this awful company.

I am now issuing a joint action against "3" and NI Upgrades Ltd and will let you know my progress

I was promised cash back on two 3G mobiles for 12 months "free" line rental (35 X 12 months X 2 phones = 840). My first claim including vouchers, bills and delivery they said was "lost in the post". They suggested I send them copies with a covering letter which I posted by rercorded delivery. They now refuse to refund any money because they must have the original delivery note (that they say got lost in the post).

I am therefore considering taking Choose 3, 3 Sation Road, PO Box 163, Guiseley, Leeds LS20 8XG to the small claims court.

Lets see,

I have been with 3 for only a couple of months and i am sick of them. I have problems with my phone loosing the signal
When i spoke to CS i was told that I live in an area that has a fluctuating signal quility and this is what causes me to loose the signal.
I was however offered a soloution. Just down the road (about a 5 min walk) is an area that has a great signal strength and that if i wanted to make a call i should perhaps consider going into that area to make the call.
What the hell is all that about, 3 CS actually want me to go out my house, walk down the raod for 5 mins to make a phone call.
Sounds like a fantastic idea 3.

I now really want to get out of the contract with them and move to 02 infact, minus the 3G stuff, which i dont use anyway, I can get a better tarrif with 02.

Ive e-mailed a couple of addresses explaining my problem but for some reason i dont think i am going to get anywhere. I am now considering paying the remander of my contract to get away from 3. Sounds drastic but i think that could be the way that it goes.

Better start making my way down the road and round the corner to call CS to terminate the contract

I completely agree, and Communications Direct today have tried a new scam to charge a 25.00 cancellation fee. I eventually got through to a 'manager' who told me that unless I gave him my credit card details he would not give me a returns number or address for returning the phone!
Avoid them at all costs ( and if you have a return address for them it would be appreciated!)

The best thing to do is find out how long you have remaining on your existing contract then contact three and ask them to lower your tariff to the lowest possible payment per month, then tell them that you would like to pay the rest of the contract off. This will save you money and allow you to transfer to a different network provider.

I've stumbled across this forum whilst trying to find a new customer care contact number for carfone warehouse in leeds. I took a years contract out with them for a 3 mobile phone last year on a half price line rental deal. I kept all bills and documentation which they requested and submitted them within the stipulated time window. However, three months later after numerous promises of reimbursement I still have not recieved a penny and the only contact which I have had with the company is when I have phoned them and waited in a que on a premium rate line for up to forty minutes.
The previous customer service number now seems to have changed and I am unable to get in contact wth the company. The only route to satisfaction appears to be through legal action.

25 that's crazy far too young lets say 50 then no-one is responsible for anything, no lets be serious, i'm not a great fan of 3 and have been with them 3 years, there is now i believe a general view that a lot of there early promblems were due to crap handsets that were unable to switch between 2 and 3g and so would drop calls example LG U8110-20-30-38 All these handsets caused big problems, you ask most people that have a Nokia 6680/6630 if they have any problems and they will say no.
Customer service is still piss poor.
Back to your he is old enough to sort his own problems out.

Sorry to hear about your problems, but most people are aware to claim a cshback you need to send in your bills at regular intervals.
You can aways ask 3 to print of statements that don't have, they will probaly charge you a fee.
Most cashbacks go via 3rd party companies like Carphonewarehouse, Dialaphone etc not 3 the network 3 usally discount certain months, anyway you will be hard pressed to get anycashbacks without proof, and if you do send in bills send copies and special delivery not recorded.
GOOD LUCK

I took out 2 contracts with 3 in January 2005, I lost my phone on the way to work but thats my fault. However I had to wait for 6 weeks for a replacement handset and when it arrived it came with a totally different number and a pay as you go chip.
I immediately complained and I was told I had to fork out 15 for the privalidge of a new chip I refused and complained some more and they later sent out 2 more SIM cards but to my parents address? and both of them were pay as you go, I complained again and I was getting no where.
I returned the phones to 3 with a letter explaining my disgust with there company, my problem was easy enough to sort out. They then tried to send the phones back to my parents address??? Eventually some 6 weeks later they arrived at my address, further letters were written to them explaining they are not going to be paid unless they sort my problem, still to this day no resolution.
On November 30th 2005 they contacted me and said I had to pay 96.00 for a phone I could not use due to their stupidness and I had to pay it.
They even said they could not contact me earlier but I sent the phones to them and when they returned them they had cut them off!!!!
Dont use 3, they are crap still waiting for my sim card its 10 months now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Communications Direct (from Cardiff) tried conning my wife into signing up for a 3 contract - initial contact was by phoning her on her mobile, saying that her contract had expired & that the caller was the <Upgrade Manager>. She did ask if they were Vodafone but afterwards realised that she hadn't actually got an answer...

Unfortunately for these con artists we were able to stop everything before they got their hands on any of our cash. It did cost us a fiver to send the phone back; fortunately the box seal hadn't been broken, & the SIM was still in its frame. We were threatened with all sorts of legal action, but we held our nerve & eventually they gave up.

3 are so stupid & incompetent that they are STILL sending bills (for a ZERO BALANCE ) every month, costing them cash.

I wouldn't use 3 (or their agents) under ANY circumstances.

new "3" tactics?     Post a reply to this message

i am on a long drawn out dispute with "3" and getting nowhere.

i was told on 23 sept 2005 (by a firm known as Upgrades Direct, aka NI Upgrades, aka The Fonebox, macclesfield, cheshire) to "try out a 3 handset for 10 days". although more to it this seems to have got me into a contract with "3" that they wont let me out of. signed contact 4 oct 05 and cancelled 12 oct - 8 days. they say 23 sept to 12 oct is over 14 days. (my copy of the contact clearly shows i changed the agents date from 23 sept to 4 oct)

essentially, someone has contacted vodaphone, cleared security, and requested the "pac" details. this has enable them to hijack my ten year old vodafone number on 29 nov 2005 and disconnect (or bar me) from 2 dec 2005.

as a self employed accountant whose ONLY contactable no was the old voda one this has caused me severe business problems and time/expense in changing my stationery, website, business forms, search engine registrations etc) as i wil not pay these cowboys on principle the 300+ they want in order to give my no back to voda.

i warned them by fax on 29 nov that if they didn't transfer the no back to voda i would sue them - i have now submitted a claim for 894 excluding any lost business that may occur. they choose not to respond.

i will not let this matter drop - anyone alse been duped into a contract or had their no hijacked through fraudulent means?

Cashback claims!     Post a reply to this message

I signed up to what sounded like a fantastic deal - 49p per month for the first 12 months and then 30 per month for the last 6 months!
Unfortunately, this is not how you pay. What you have to do is pay 15 per month for the first 6 months and then 30 a month for the last 12 months. You can claim cashback after 6 months. Which is what I'm trying to do now. Unfortunately, you need paper copies of all your bills to date in order to get the cashback. I have some of my paper bills but not all. They owe me 260 which I don't think I'm ever going to see!

Dialaphone is a con company     Post a reply to this message

I did a contract with 3 mobile operator through Dialaphone. Dialaphone told me that if I sign a one year contract with 3 they will give me a cashback of 31.53, 76.03 and 76.53 at the end of month 3, month 6 and month 9 respectively.

I had no trouble claiming my cashback for the first voucher (31.53). But when I claimed my second voucher they never sent the money back into my account. I waited a couple of months and when I called them they told me that they never received my voucher which I had sent through post and hence cannot pay me. I told the operator that I have photocopies of the voucher. She advised me to send the photocopies together with a complaint letter to their customer relations department. On the 11th of September I sent a letter with the photocopies of the voucher to them.

By this time it was also time for my third voucher as I was in the ninth month of my contract so I sent that to dialaphone as well.

Around 24th of September 2005 I received a call from dialphone and the person on the other side of the phone told me that they have accepted my claim for the second voucher and they already sent the money to my account. When I checked my account I noticed the money.

So now I had only one voucher left over. Two months passed by and they never transferred the money (76.03) for my third voucher to my account. I called their customer services again and I was surprised when they told me that the money which was transferred to my account was actually for the third voucher and they never accepted my claim for the second voucher.

I told the operator on the phone that I have actually received a call and the lady told me that the money transferred is for the second voucher. She said No she told you it was for the third voucher and we cannot pay you for the second voucher. I replied back to that lady I can remember the conversation and I even told them that if you have recorded that conversation and play it back I will accept any fine.

When I told the operator on the phone that what about the fact that the money transferred into my account matches the amount stated on my second voucher she said No according to my computer it matches your third voucher. She said that if it even does match your second voucher then my vouchers are wrong, and all she can do is apologies for sending me the wrong voucher. My request to speak to a manager was also denied no matter how much I insisted.

For me money is not as important as the principle. I am hope that through this forum I will be able to make more people aware of these frauds that dialaphone is doing so that someone will eventually stop them. I have photocopies of all my correspondings including the vouchers. If there is a way to get hold of my telephone conversations with dialaphone then you have my full permission to do so.

dave54 would you like to pool resources?

though in one of my recent excursions into the den of oxygen thieves that is the 3 contact centre, some hapless sod pointed out to me that there were other feature of my bundle such as text messages that I could still use.

After pointing out that the primary purpose of a telephone is in fact to behave as a telephone I thanked them for their insight and it had been noted for use at court.

3 mobile phone/carphone warehouse     Post a reply to this message

It is often young people who get into problems with three and I think someone should appeal to the government to try to stop this type of poor practice that gets them into debt. My son is serving an apprenticeship and he is supporting himself on his meagre salary. Because he was young and naive as we all were once, he now finds himself receiving demanding letters from three for the money for a phone that went wrong months ago. he was given a voucher to go to another carphone warehouse to pick up a new phone but didnt do so because he had already seen on Watchdog that they were faulty. Instead he, naively, went and got himself hitched up to another contract with another firm and now he is trying to pay for both phones. If anyone out there would like to join me in this appeal to the government, please let me know. I believe there are so many companies behaving like this that there should be a period before, say, the age of 25, when the law protects young people while they are becoming used to caring for themselves.

Exploding 3 contract LG 8120 telephone     Post a reply to this message

Copy of a letter sent today to Ofcom
Dear Ofcom

I write to register my disgust with how my family and I have been treated by the mobile telephone company 3.

Firstly I cover a previous problem with an exploding telephone belonging to my son my son.
On 26th January 2005 my son and I purchased a contract telephone from Ideal Phones in Colchester. As my wife and I have two contract mobiles with 3, at that time I recommended them to my son. He therefore signed up for a Talk and text 600 package.
He was given a LGU8120 telephone and the various serial numbers are as follows:
IMEI 355116031*****.
USIM 89442000008860*****.
Tel. no. 07915 ******
Transaction number 2c9ff4ba017a04c20101af255d4*****.

The telephone subsequently exploded. Mot just a puff but a huge cloud of smoke, hot and sparking bang. This is no exaggeration and it is fortunate that it was not in his pocket at the time. My son called in to Ideal Phones and the engineer saw the telephone. Ideal Phones were helpful. My son was directed to contact 3. 3 told him that a courier would collect it on Monday 18th July 2005 between the hours of 8am and 6pm, he therefore waited in all day but nobody came to collect it. The following day he again waited and the telephone was eventually collected. He had to take a leave day and then re-arrange the Tuesday to facilitate this.

The telephone was returned on 21st July 2005 with a letter from 3s service and repair centre. They refused to repair it as the serial number was missing! This letter was an insult to our intelligence and was clearly totally inadequate to explain what could have been a disastrous incident. Can you imagine what would have happened if it had been in a young childs pocket or in the pocket of somebody driving a car? Imaging the press coverage!

My son and I, using my 3 telephone contacted 3 and after several hours on hold and being bounced from department to department we were finally allowed to return the telephone to 3 for repair. Having been without a telephone for several weeks a replacement telephone was issued. A week or so later my son reported that the phone kept locking out and appeared to have faults with it. We made another series of long telephone calls and eventually they said it was because the telephone needed new software. This was fixed by sending an update by SMS. A few weeks had gone by and yet again my sons telephone is faulty. He only has a few months to go and then he will be terminating the contract. He will insert his SIM card in my telephone to make do in the meantime.

The reason he is able to use my telephone is because after my sons experience and the fact that both my and my wifes 3 telephones have needed replacing during the year contract, I have decided to leave 3 for another company.

On 20th September 2005 I rang 3 and gave notice to terminate my contract. I endured the passing from department to department and their attempts to keep our business and after considerable time was actually able to give notice. We sent a letter confirming our notice to terminate.
In the meantime I found a new contract deal that suited and arranged for replacement phones for my wife and me. These were delivered on 17th Oct 2005.

On 17th October 2005 I rang 3 to obtain PAC codes as at that time we were considering transferring our numbers to the new telephones. I spoke to 3s call centre in Mumbai and again after attempts to keep my business I obtained 2 PAC codes. During my conversation with the operator called Archana, I distinctly confirmed my understanding of what we had discussed. Our agreement was that if we used the PAC codes to transfer our numbers then as soon as we switched our new O2 telephones on then the contract with 3 would cease and a final bill would be sent. Importantly I also confirmed that if we did not use the PAC codes we should notify 3 and the contract would be terminated immediately.

We subsequently decided to change to the new numbers as it gave us an excuse to ring everyone we had not spoken to for a while.

About 8.40pm on 19th October 2005 I rang 3 to tell thank them and tell them we would not be using the PAC codes after all. The operator told me that the PAC codes were cancelled and that the contract would now cease on the 19th November 2005. I argued that this was different to what I had been told on the 17th but the operator was unable to discuss at that time of night. He said that he would leave a note on the file and somebody would call to discuss it with me the following day.

I telephoned 3 the following day, as I had not heard anything. I was again bounced around several departments and again suffered the heavy sell attempts. Eventually I spoke with a lady who sounded as if she was in his country as she had a Scottish accent. I had a long conversation with her during which I swore on everything I hold dear that I was telling the truth. She refused to accept my explanation and obviously thought I was lying. I told her that I would not be paying their bill for anything after the 20th October 2005 and that I would contest the case with everything I have. I asked to speak with the lady I had spoken with on the 17th October 2005 and was eventually put through to the Mumbai call centre. The operator there listened to what I had to say and said that both my wife and my contract would terminate today (20th). I had the sense to record the operator saying this. The sum involved is only 50 but my principles will not let me pay.

My telephone numbers with 3 were 07916118*** and 07916118***

My purpose of writing is to bring to your attention the terrible service that 3 have given. I also suspect that something else is bound to go wrong. Please register this letter and advise me how best to proceed if the contract is not terminated as promised.

3 network cashback offers     Post a reply to this message

Reading the many horrendous stories about Hutchison 3G network, no-one seems to mention being offered a free phone by a dealer offering a cashback every 3 months.
This probably complicates matters legally as the direct debit for the contract and call costs go to 3G but the cashback offer (which refunds all your costs if you only use the free minutes and no extra services) comes from the dealer who provided the phone. Presumably the commission from 3G is intended to cover this cashback. Beware of a company (or companies because there are several registered at the same address) in Guiseley, Leeds. They call themselves 'Choose 3' (not a registered name) but are also 'mobile solutions online', 'direct fone warehouse', 'choose mobiles ltd', or 'themobs.com'.
They have not provided the first cashback, now overdue by 3 months. They first said they were behind with pocessing, but have since lied to me twice about 'cheques being sent'. They have confirmed my suspicions by twice asking for my credit card, now saying that a change of policy means thery don't post out cheques. I've reported them to the police but they won't be doing anything. If they don't pay my total losses of 200-300 I will be taking immediate legal action against them (and against 3G - especially now i've read about them on grumbletext.) I would say to others don't have any worries about being threatened with cancellation fees/debt recovery etc. - they are just threats - the last thing they want is getting the law involved because these crooks would lose big time - just make sure you stop any access to your bank account via direct debit and warn your credit card company not to allow any payments. (You can refuse to pay any unauthorised payments when settling your credit card bill).
If I lived nearer Leeds I would go there personally and make a scene - that's how to get the police involved!

3 total pants!     Post a reply to this message

I foolishly signed up for two of these contracts for 3 handsets last February.
One for me and one for my wife. We both chose different handsets. I a motorola E1000 and my wife an LG8138. Both highly rated in the mobile phone press!
After the first month we experienced dropped calls. I called 3 many times but got no credible reason for this. The technology states that when a 3 base station or network is not available the handsets will roam to the O2 network. I made sure from 3's own marketing material that network coverage was good in our area. No point getting it if you cant use it!
Funny I know that our handsets seemed fine for a month. Only after a month did we have problems. Therefore we could not cancel as we had gone beyond the point of return.
Since March and up to last month we had problems. I even put the drop signal indicator on to monitor the fault. Roughly every two minutes the phone would drop from the 3 network and roam to O2 and then back again about two minutes later. Constantly I kid you not!
Each time I would ring 3 in Mumbai and get totaly hacked off by some patronising Asian reading from a script and getting totaly speechless when the script failed to offer up a resolution. "Bring the handset in for repair"." Why? its not a fault as we have two different handsets with the same fault. Its not the handsets its the network" I would say.
Futher research revealed that a 3 base station existed some 600 yds away and an O2 base station less than half a mile away. Why did I lose calls on 3?
Last month I could take no more. I wrote to 3 and gave them fourteen days to canel the agreement of face the small claims court. To date they have failed to reply so as I have given them extra time court action is now forthcoming. At the same time we signed up two new contracts with O2 and to date we have had no problems. Strong singanls at all times even when mobile. I love my Nokia 6330i and my wife adores her Samsung D500.

I'd like to know has anyone else had issues with dropped calls in strong areas? Has anyone taken 3 to the small claims court? How did you go on? Is there a way to get results against 3?
For us 3 are total pants!

how can 3 be so damn stupid     Post a reply to this message

I am a liberal man.... peacefull and reasonable!

So why do I feel like shooting these twats smack between the eyes. (call centre peeps)

Are they trained to be obnoxious or is it there lack of communication skills or is it a cultural thing!!

Wake up 3 ur doing it all wrong!!

One example my name is Steven, when they ask for security clearance. I was told they wouldnt clear it cos i said my name was 'STEVE' ?? eh?? what

Common sense guy and then be rude about it.. this is just my last incident of many!!

I HATE 3 with a passion now and it hasnt been even 30 days yet.

Everything from their cheeky not supplying games with phone so u pay them for the pleasure to cutting you off in the middle of a conversation because of a credit limit they fail to tell you about!!

I feel a mug for signing a contract with these turds!!

But hey roll on 12 months.....

3 HANDSETS     Post a reply to this message

I'm not great fan of 3 but i have recently upgraded to a NOKIA 6680 and guess what no problems at all that's right, no dropped calls, excellent reception.
I believe the main problem with 3 and there are a few is they rush out handsets that clearly don't work between 2g and 3g.
The reason i say this is because 3 use O2 for 2g and there own network for 3g everyone knows 02 are fine and people that have downloaded the software onto certain handsets that enable the phone to be locked to 02 have no problems at all.
i, m based in South London and have been with 3 for nearly 3 years although my main numer is still with T-Mobile the 3 handsets i have used have been LG U8110,U8120,U8130 and the U8138 and too be honest they were RUBBISH rarely could i complete a call without dropping a call and even 3 themselves now admit the phones were a nightmare.
I have had the nokia 7600 when they first came out it did drop a few calls but the NOKIA'S
6630/6680 seem to have it sussed.
If you are with 3 and can get your hands on these two handsets give it ago.

hey sorry to hear the problem you had with 3. I have almost the same problem with them, all I did was just cancel the direct debit with my bank and wrote a letter to the Customer Services Manager that if they don't stop messing with account I will report the situation to the Office of Fair Trading you can go to their website www.oft.gov.uk.

Its a government department that ensures customers don't get ripped off. Threaten 3 with this and they should yield.

We are having problems with "3" as Re: to a cancellation of a contract(s)
My wife was contacted by a supplier (Tulip) selling deals on behalf of "3" which We regretfully took up. A month latter "3" billed us for the other mobiles we had even though we canceled the contract we are now taking the matter up with trading standards, as for the mobile phone watch dog they are a load of crap.

when I worked at 3 I was asked to fudge numbers all the time. A little off the top here, a little padding on top there. my mgr would threaten me if i didn't want to do it. and that was just 1 person in 1 office. the end of q results are the greatest work of fiction since dickens!

the work conditions are a bit dickens too - RFID tags for all employees - can't go for a piss without going through 2 doors with your RFID tag. you have to take your co mobile home at the weekend too so they can track you lest too many employees be talking outside of hours. this co has a lot to hide.

i got out but my heart bleeds for the ppl on the call centre floors - most are students or single mums - most sent by agencies and you know how agencies work - they don't tell them what company they are going to work for, they just send them there. they are only as good as the support they get from their mgrs and all they get is sarcasm and attitude and witch hunts.

basically the co is one big inside joke - xcept someone forgot to tell the line staff and customers. the mgrs laugh at what they do and they laugh at the people under them who have no taste for their games and attitude and are just trying to bring in a wage. i tried my best but this co treated me like s**t and i still feel messed up thanks to them.

when 3 goes DOWN DOWN DOWN it will be one of the happiest days of my life !

The way to resolve problems     Post a reply to this message

By law, a Chief Executive Officer of a Public Limited Company, in the UK, has 30 days to respond to a recorded delivery letter of complaint. If he fails to do so, he is liable to beng prevented from being a Director of any UK company.

So, write your complaint, what you expect as a resolution, then send it recorded delivery to the CEO at the Company's Head Office.

I had severe problems with 3 last year, and now have their CEO's signature alongside other corporate trophies, as well as getting a result - almost. Still, one year on, they send a bill for a disused line to my old address. The CEO is about to receive another recorded delivery letter this time, but not only will that contain my grievance, it will also contain an invoice from me to them for my wasted time, a demand for a result within 30 days (reasonable fora problem that has just passed it's anniversary), and of course, a reference to this website!

3G are pretty poor, but worse, they do things that affect your credit rating. Despite having admitted to me that they failed to cancel 2 phones when I cancelled them correctly, on time etc, 3G have lodged bad credit information with the credit agencies and I have now been refused a bank account on the basis of that. 3G did promise to put a rectification note into the credit file - over a month ago - and nothing has happened as yet.

Fortunately, there is number on this site for the executive office which I'm going to ring and demand some resolution of this.

How dare they post false information about someone, admit it's their fault and then still do nothing about it?

Unbelievable.

3 have finally admitted of the record that the lg handsets are rubbish they have withdrawn the LGU8 138 the current top of the range model until LG sort out the software issues.
I have now been given the Motorola v975 hanset and guess what it's even worse than the LGs. So there you have it.

I had a contract job at 3 (financial desperation) and let me tell you - they have a special link on their Intranet home page just to report INTERNAL faults with the company issued LG mobiles that all employees have. THATS how bad they are.

Having been both a 3 customer and a 3 employee I can tell you that the worst horror stories are true and what you see on this page only scratches the surface - I have never worked at such a cocky, incompetent, self-righteous place before. Truly - this company thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. And having sat on the other side and witnessed how they process and handle problems and complaints: in their minds, they can do no wrong, nothing is ever their fault, if you have a problem its nothing to do with them and its all in your head, and they dont hesitate to be creative with the numbers and figures at the end of the month to prove their point. The managers are so smug and disrespectful to you that you want to slap them.

For general harassment purposes: the Executive Office is in Maidenhead, the call centres are in Glasgow and bombay. I have to say the poor kids in the call centres are as dumped on as the customers, so dont attack them. Go for the managers and directors - they deserve everything you can throw at them. They know full well whats going on and they are having a laugh at it.

Three Mobile!     Post a reply to this message

I originally brought a Three mobile when they first came out in the U.K. a few years ago, only to find that I couldn't make any calls, or people were saying the the phone was switched off most of the time! I returned the phone within the 15 days money back guarantee.

Several months ago I thought I'd give Three another go, hoping they had improved. You get loads of minutes for a cheap amount - that about sums up the service from three "Cheap". Very rarely able to use the so called free minutes, and again like before people calling me said the phone was switched off.

Three made arrangements for the phone to go off for repair, and the phone came back the same, again booked the time off work for another courier to pick the phone up, and it was returned exactly the same - only occassionally could I make/receive calls.

I rang to reduce my tariff down to the cheapest they did, so as when the 12 months contract was up, would get rid of it straight away. Was told that I had to call back as the computer system was down, called again got another excuse, after calls 4 times i finally got someone who told me I could change tariffs but not today! so another call to three a few days later, only to be put on hold for 45 minutes, and transfered to various staff at three.

I rang yesterday to cancel my contract, to firstly be told I couldn't for another month, and then to be told I could, but had to be transferred to another person, a total of 1 hr 5 minutes showed on the display of the phone - until I was transferred to the correct person. This persons attitude was unbelievable and felt like telling him where to go!

Three, well dont bother its nothing be hassell, FULL STOP!!!!

I'm on Three and perfectly happy. I've found them as good as the other nets I've used and in some places got a signal where other nets don't.

Sure CS needs to be better, and some of the handsets are awful, but overall, they aren't bad.

And the gent who wants to cancel his sisters, or whatevers, contract.....You're outta luck as someone else noted, THree; and O2, Orange, VOda and T-mobile; have their arses covered in every direction, the main one being that they don't promise you any signal or service at all. Remember 'Service Limitations Apply'

As for everyone with difficulty understanding the Indian CS, try speaking normally and not shouting down the phone.

Finally, the dickhead who thinks the CS are 30p an hour.................Mumba CSA must have a degree, has subsidised housing, medical, the works.

You obviously work for the 3 network! I got a 90 bill for downloads that were never made from my phone and I'm still in dispute with them. Whatever anyone has written on this website rings true and anyone who has had any dealings with CS will have experienced their bad manners and ineptitude.

I am so pleased to have found i am not alone!

My E1000 stopped working on 20th May 05 when it came up saying unregistered SIM. 2 sims later and 1 "repaired" phone later, it still doesn't work.GRRRRR

The Customer Dis-Service team in India are so useless i cannot believe it. I lost it with them today and I know that's the worst thing you can do but i had just had enough of being "thanked for my patience" and their "understanding of my frustration" and "it will take a few more days to resolve your problem".

At one point they claimed to have tried to contact me and left a message for me. I said no you haven't and they effectively accused me of lying. I then checked my voicemail by dialling into it from a landline to find 2 messages from 3 CS - that'll be the phone that doesn't work!!!!!!! They've also told me that my signal will be perfect when the new transmitters come on line .....in 2006!!!!!

Today i found this site and have called the executive office and they have assured me that my problem will now be resolved. All i want is my PAC number and to run away from these incompetent ******s as fast as possible.

Also, don't buy your phone from Car Phone Warehouse as i've tried to get them involved as well but they couldn't give a toss.

Things Can Only Get better? I DOUBT IT!     Post a reply to this message

Hey there
I have had a persistant problem with my U110 which may i add is a crap phone. My microphone went dodgy in december because people couldn't hear me speak over the phone. So i used my wisdom to ring 3. BIG MISTAKE! i was put through to a indian call centre with the most horrendous reception, Fair enough i told them the scenerio and they offered to fix the problem. A few days later i get my phone back with the microphone working to its full potential (So i thought) About a week later it happened again, the microphone had packed in! I was not impressed so i rang the 3 customer helpline and the woman said use your hands free kit for a few weeks to see how it feels. I was livid! i thought the point of a phone was to hold it to your ear in the old fashioned way! Anyway i explained i don't want to walk around talking to myself so her next step was to blame me for damaging the phone! There wasn't even a slight hint that 3 even repair phones! I rung up on her because i could of threw the phone out of the window ( Hard to do when you have a hands free kit on).
They then send me a new phone out after much argument but three months down the line this one has actually conked out on me! A three month old phone! So i rang Three again much to my joy! To be fair to them they did try and solve the situation by offering me a reduction in my contract costs and a new phone. The gentleman on the phone was actually agreeing with my ranting and raving down the phone which i found quite amusing! Now i have to ring them up tomorrow between 9-5 to get a "new" upgrade. Is there any chance of taliknig to management or soem sort of "rank" above call centre person? Just so i can get there name and complain

Just keep on pestering them, cancel direct debit payments and when they send you the bill send it back stating * I do not receiive adequate signal strength in order for me to use the phone for the purpose for which it is intended, contary to the Sale of goods/services act of 1979*

If your troubles are with LG81xx handsets     Post a reply to this message

The LG U81xx series of handsets have had more than their fair share of problems. Most of these have been down to software and it took an awful long time for H3 to actually acknowledge this (only as recently as the last Watchdog program in April '05).

You can flog the dead horse and chase 3's CS or Carphone Warehouse or 3's own repairers (TRS) who will all as likely make your phone worse rather than better.

If you are having problems with your LG U81xx handset and it is definitely not a hardware fault (i.e. buttons falling off, smoking, dropped handset, water damage etc.) then you should consider having the handset software re-flashed by someone who knows what they are doing. There are dozens of people on eBay who will not only re-flash your LG handset with the latest version of the software but also unlock it at the same time to allow you to use any other network SIM if you get really fed up with Three.

Some of these guys can also de-brand your LG handset so that it is effectively as it left the factory gate and before Three got their hands on it and crippled bits of its functionality.

I am not connected with any of these, nor do I offer such a service. I only offer this as a possible solution to your troubles. Not that it was giving me trouble but I had my LG U8120 upgraded to version 105+ and unlocked. It rocks All for the princely sum of 8 including post and packing. The handset was out and back within 36 hours! These guys are good, very good!

NB: These people can often re-flash, SP Unlock and de-brand other handsets too.
