Global cleaning plcI've been a customer of Global for 12 years, and had great service from the sub-contractor cleaners who did our offices. When the cleaning lady retired, all hell broke loose. No communication from Head Offce; unable to locate another contractor; inaccurate billing for non-attendant cleaners; non-returned phone calls.
Since cancelling and moving to a different company, I've had the Contracts team phoning repeatedly to keep my business. Yet this is the first time they have shown interest in customer service!
I'll always thank them for introducing me to the first local cleaning company, but their lazy and insulting management behaviour do not make them a company I would recommend.

This isn't true, I have just had two pairs from Specsavers, yes I paid extra for special lenses I expect to it states clearly the free lenses are standard only, the second pair with the same lenses were completely free along with three months accidental/loss cover. I had just bought a pair from Vision Express and they did exactly what you describe, the lenses where very expensive and you paid for lenses in the second pair, plus they took over three weeks to deliver compared with Specsavers same day for standard lenses and one week for special lenses. I paid 214 for two pairs of designer glasses with varifocal lenses and one of them sunglasses at Specsaver and 254 for one pair of non-designer glasses varifocal from Vision Express.

Totally agree with everything, the settings are very poor, especially the ear rings, there is hardly any gold there. The presenters are really annoying, making ill informed remarks about the items. The worst buys are the diamonds, they use the word "diamonds" very loosely, "with diamonds" usually means they are as small as a grain of sugar, and diamond rings are always made up of VERY tiny bits of diamond and are not very well set, the diamonds being over shadowed by the balls of silver or gold instead of a neat claw setting. You get what you pay for, so the saying goes, but Gems TV really try to convince the public that they have arrived at the low price by cutting out the middle men, they have certainly cut out the quality controller. Some of the coloured gems are ok, so long as they are viewed for what they are, the cheaper end of the gems market, do not expect to get quality emeralds or rubies from them; stick to the quartz type stuff to martch summer outfits. They definitely make them down to a price, they are now using OVERLAY which is a posh name for gold plated, have fun but do not be fooled into believing they are bargains, they are obviously made down to a price, and this shows in the settings. Think, they never, ever offer whole carot diamond rings, I doubt if a carot of diamond as a whole, has ever been near their workshops. the owner is just there to make money. The auction is all about whipping up interest, if the items were that good, they would just show them at a set price, remember the old rule ?"Buyer Beware"
Peak outdoors / amazonHi all I am writing this post in hope that no one else has to go through the trouble I am having right now. I purchased a new caravan awning from Amazon uk a couple of days before Easter this year. But when it arrived it come from a company called peak outdoors. We went away for Easter were the awning leaked like a sieve in about 5 different places , I took photographs and on returning home I contacted amazon who told me I had to contact peak outdoors as it was a third party sale. I pointed out to them that they were the ones who debited my credit card not peak outdoors, they told me it was nothing to do with them and I must contact peak outdoors. So I did were all I can say is they have one of the worst customer service that I have ever known. They told me to send it back to them for inspection. I wrote again saying that I know the awning is faulty and included pictures and that under my consumer rights sales of goods act I was rejecting the awning and wished for a full refund. Also I asked were they going to pay for the return of the faulty awning. They ignored everything I asked just e mailing back saying send it we do what we have to do to repair it and send it back. I again asked for a full refund and requested were they going to pay for the return. Nothing just ignored me. I waited a week no response so I went to the CAB for advice they wrote a letter on my behalf stating that due to the extremely poor condition of the awning I am entitled to a full refund under both the sales of goods act and also the faulty goods act. I had to pay for the return at a cost of 20 to myself. The letter was sent on the 21st of April recorded delivery and they received the awning at 10.06 am on the 20 th of April this year. To date neither myself and the CAB have heard anything they have my awning and my 180 of which it cost me to buy and I have nothing. The CAB also wrote to my credit card company stating that they are liable as well as it cost over 100 . They have wrote back stating that I have no claim as it is a third party sale e.g peak outdoors sold me the awning but they are saying it was Amazon to whom they paid the money to. I have contacted Amazon were they told me that it was them who tell the company's not to give a refund and it's there terms and conditions on how they take payement . They accepted no responsibility at all for this problem but as a good will gesture they credited my account 5 . I told them that in my opinion this is a scam which they are doing with company's and that they could put the 5 were the sun doesn't shine as I will never be using them again. I also tried to review the awning and peak outdoors on Amazons web site were they removed it stating someone else had reviewed the awning . Which is a total lie. It looks now that I am going to have to start court proceedings against peak outdoors , so be warned people do not use Amazon uk as they are fine when everything is ok but when it goes wrong they do not want to know. And as for peak outdoors well they are simply crooks. There are quite a few complaints about this company on the web so please people keep well clear as you will end up loosing your money and your goods . BE WARNED
I have brought two alexandrite items from gems tv with no colour change to be seen at all, under torch or candle light. I found this article about alexandrite & suggest you heed what is said as it is a farce.
2005 Update
In the past few years, significant quantities of lower grade alexandrite has come on the market, mainly from Russia. Most of it is green with no apparent colour change, or if their is any colour change, it is extremely difficult to see. These are being marketed mainly by television jewellery shopping channels. We have now seen at least two samples which people have bought, and we were rather under-impressed. Both were in thin lightweight mounts, and even though they were in 18 carat gold, they looked as though they had been made "down to a price" like much of the jewellery from mass market discount multiples such as Argos of H. Samuel. This type of jewellery is alright as long as you stick to buying it because you like it, but it usually seems to be marketed along with ridiculous "valuation" prices or "starting" prices, then sold at about 10% of this figure.
The presenters are false feeding information about their gems & showing how much of a gem hunter gavin is as alexandrite what they are selling is very poor.
safestyle uk tacticsjune 2011 salesman calledand gave us a quote for 6 windows, we paid him 60 pounds for the survey and he told us that we could cancel the order at any time and have out 60 pounds refunded at any time, a while later safestyle called and told us that the windows must be installed by june 2012 because we had signed a contract which i was unaware of have been misled by the salesman, the calls became more frequent and more threatening, then another of their team started calling asking me when they could install the windows, i made a note of his number and said i would call him when we were ready to have them installed, but he started calling every other day because he sald he had been told to do so, he has now said that he was going to pass it on to his solicitors and there is still a month to go, they are not nice people to deal with, avoid at all costs.
Alamo / Europcar - discrimination by car rental companyDiscriminatory and very rude behaviour.
We have hired with hertz, thrifty, Avis and zip-car frequently in the last 6 months. My husband has an Indian licence since 1998, which he has used since his arrival in London in 2010. He also has a UK licence that was issued in Nov 2011. The rules UK for car rental require a driver to have had a valid license for a year. And this he has.
Yet the Alamo / Europcar agent over here at the counter has decided to completely ignore the validity of the Indian license, and will not hand us the pre-booked car. This is absolute discrimination. And a huge let down. Since we had booked before, we are here at the counter with our bags packed, ready to start our holiday. Our hotel bookings have been made already.
At this late hour there is nothing we can do because no other car rentals have cars available.
The staff at Alamo / Europcar is being completely rude, insensitive about this. There is not a shred of decency in the behaviour of the agent, Pavalov.
What a horrible let down.

The interesting bit is that the web site is almost identical to this one:

Clicking on the "Complaints Procedure" of that site takes you to:

Who say they are into "Mobile Lead Generation". Hmm...
Either the first web site is a rip-off of that site, or the company decided that junk SMS generated too much heat so decided to set up a bulletproof site in Malaysia with little information on it to direct people to.
As usual I'll be feeding them a fake claim to see where the trail goes, and I'll update this post. If you have any information on these scumballs then mail me: sapient [at] wacky.zzn.com
AVOID AT ALL COSTS 1and1 Free Trial & Tribulation.Hi, Please read this.
I have somehow received a free trial from 1&1. It may have been triggered from a sales call from the USA. It resulted in an e-mail welcoming me to a free trial. The e-mail ended up unbeknown to me in my Spam Folder. And there it stayed. I am now being charged 70.00 per quarter for a service I did not ask for. I only became aware of this charge when I inspected my Pay-Pal account and saw the 1&1 debit. Incredulous as to the source of the charge I searched my mail account for 1&1 related e-mails. It was then I located the free trial details in my Spam folder.
At the foot of the 'Free Trial' introduction was a number to call should one choose not to use the service offered. Failure to call the number to cancel the trial within the specified time period automatically gives 1&1 the right to charge for the service. As I have an existing domain 1&1 have my payment details.
I am pretty devastated this has happened and the sharp practice used appears legal.
So, my message is 1and1 are using Stealth & sharp practice to sucker people into useless services at an outrageous cost. I call it white collared theft.
I asked for a refund as the package is unused, no contract has been signed and no invoice received by me. They rejected my request and here I am on this forum joining you as a disillusioned fellow victim. I am going to attack 1and1 in any way I legally can.
Watchdog next.

Talenttext UKI accidentally signed up to something called Talenttext. I received an email about getting auditions for parts, which I was fairly interested in. So I clicked on the website and it required me to confirm my Mobile number to sign up, which I did. But now they keep sending me premium SMSs which cost 1 per text for me, which I never really signed up for as they didn't say this was going to happen on their website. I've replied STOP to the number they have stated on their website to send stop to, this didn't work, neither did STOP ALL. I also emailed them, but still nothing. This is the link I was emailled,
http://www.talenttext.co.uk/registration/audition_email/?src=aff&utm_source=TalentText+UK&utm_campaign=1e7d3b75ff-UK_HOBBIT_14_26_2012&utm_medium=email
There is absolutely nothing on that link about getting charged, or even getting sent a text.
700134473 premium textsMy daughter is receiving texts from this number (700134473) and I am being charged 1.50 a time, resulting in over 20 per month. I have done searches and this number seems to have no origin! Can any one help? I'll be gathering more info from my daughter when she's home and contacting Phonepayplus as Virgin mobile has advised me to do, as they refuse to refund the charges. I am not happy about this...not one bit!!
700034369I will update on the text message as i can't remember them, i just deleted them as i didn't realize i was being charged 1.50 p/message. I phoned Virgin and they looked it up for me, it would appear lots of complaints are being made about this number. They can't stop it so i've been told, i have to contact the originator.....great help (
I was told it's come from www.dialogue.co.uk but when i type it in the end changes to .net...not sure if it's the same people :S
I've tried texting STOP and STOP ALL but then received a report saying " THis is not a UK number" and " please check destination number".
It's costing me a fortune and i just want it stopped (
Please help.
Thanks.
Hutchinson Three UK - ComplaintI have been with Three since 2003 and in October 2010 I was upgraded to the One Plan. However, they offered me a HTC Wildfire, which constantly froze and went into repair three times. The latter time was the last straw. I sent it in for repair in August 2011 and they managed to loose it on their repair line.
I complained on numerous occasions and it fell on deaf ears. I finally complained to the Executive Office, who gave me a Samsung Galaxy W in December, by which time I was totally fed up and had complained to the Ombudsman. In February, the Ombudsman made a final decision in my favour and awarded me a new phone, a letter of apology and 40 compensation.
Three reluctantly agreed to this and on the same day as confirming that they would not challenge the decision, they wrote to me saying they were terminating my account and gave me 30 days notice. I complained to the Ombudsman but he said he was powerless to do anything. Three have now terminated my account.
So watch out, if you are successful in securing a victory against Three, they will terminate your account.
The matter has got even worse! Due to the problems which I had with Three, they had given me some credit on my account. Furthermore, the 40 compensation awarded by the Ombudsman was also credited to my account. At the time my account was terminated, i told three that I wanted the credit sent to my bank account. They agreed and said the payment team would be arranging this. Three weeks later, I am now told that they will not be giving me the money as it was a credit from Three and not paid directly from my bank account. This also includes the 40 compensation awarded by the regulator! Surely this can not right. I am writing to the parent company and the press today.
Money Returns (All About Savings)8075007500919548 07500919548 This text arrived on my phone a few days ago from 07500919548: "IMPORTANT - You could be entitled up to 4856 in compensation from mis-sold PPI on credit cards or loans. Please reply PPI for info or STOP to opt out"
I replied "PPI" to see who called back, it turned out to be a company called "All About Savings" (http://www.allaboutsaving.co.uk, company registration: http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/all-about-saving) run by CIARAN HAMILTON and PETER JOHN COOKSON. I gave them some false details to see what would happen.
The way it works is that they sell the details on to a company called "Money Returns" (http://www.moneyreturns.co.uk on 01254685607 and 01254685630) who say that they have been sold "opt-in" numbers. They send round a representative (e.g. Gary Bushnell in Cambridge) to talk to you. They then sell the details to "Key Financial Claims" (http://www.keyfinancialclaims.co.uk on 08455190824) who would take the case, if it were real.
If you want to mess up their business model then do the same as I did, tell them you are self-employed and have PPI on a couple of credit cards and a mortgage, but give them an address that doesn't exist.
I have written confirmation from All About Savings that the company which is actually sending out the junk texts is one called Sellers Griffin. See my other post for more information about that company:
http://www.grumbletext.co.uk/vt.php?p=23730#23730
I do not recall getting the two text messages but on the 9 an10 March I am billed 3 each for the two messages. They originated from 700038137. I contacted Virgin Mobile who advised me to text back STOP which I did. I then receoved a flurry of messages saying the number was incorrect. I was afrais I might be billed for these. I contacted Virgin Media again who referred me to some organisatio called Phone Pay Plus which I have done. I still wait to hear from them. I asked Virgin to block the calls but they said they could not do this. I pointed out that that whoever was doing this is committing theft. I am not happy with Virgin and I want a refund. I am a 70 year old pensioner and cannot afford this having bailed out several banks for the government. Why is it easy to poop on honest people while the law protects scum.
Avoid batteries-man!!!!!Avoid batteries-man like the plague. This is a very dodgy online company selling replacement laptop batteries and the like. Their prices are very competitive but the company is a joke. It even claims to work out of a warehouse in Mayfair, London. Yeah, plenty of warehouses in Mayfair! If your battery does eventually turn up after a long wait, it is likely to be sub-standard and may not work at all. Be safe. Avoid companies like this, spend a little more money and use reputable companies. They also go under the name of batteries-man.co.uk
They may also operate under different names.
Avoid batteries-man!!!!!!!
Unless you wish to waste money. In which case, this is the company for you.

I ran the number through the Phonepayplus checker - it is unrecognized as I expected - as far as I am aware - it is the wrong format for a UK shortcode.
The checker gives a number to contact the regulator on - it would be a good idea to notify them of this problem they can be reached on 0800500212.
