200.0 aint to much for a multi point locking system if it includes, hooks, rollers. shoot bolts, and is made in germany they are well expensive even at trade price, a normal 4 roller system should cost around 160.0 with cylinder included that gives the whole lot 5yrs garantee.

200 is still very expensive for a double glazed door mechanism. I'm a locksmith from hereford and Id charge about half of that.

Does any one know if this is an israeli company. We have recently been invaded by these types of con artists in the united states. Any info would be appreciated.

We just had 2500 worth of work carried out by Lockaid, their nearest competitor came in at 3400+vat!!!!! If thats not good value for money, what is!!! I think they were fantastic, clean, friendly, and most of all provided us with a high quality system, in time, for the right price!!! What more could I ask!

I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH LOCKAID'S SERVICE, AND WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE 364 HAVING NEVER QUOTED THIS PRICE TO ME. IT'S A COMPLETE RIP-OFF. THEY DO NOT ASK YOU WHAT YOU WANT AND SIMPLY GIVE YOU THE MOST EXPENSIVE OPTION AND THEN TRY TO CHARGE YOU FOR IT AFTERWARDS. I HAD TO PAY 200 PLUS VAT. VALUE FOR MONEY? I THINK NOT.

Just searching for Lockaid and came across this...well I disagree with the negative comments...
I just had experience with Lockaid Ltd of London only last night. A really friendly chap came out in the middle of the night/morning 2am... he let me in within 2 minutes. I was happy to pay the money what I thought was a reasonable charge. No damage to my locks!!! On top of that they were with me in 20 mins, just like they said!
Better than walking round the streets looking for a hotel.... All the best to you.... I would also recommend Lockaid....!!

I've also had a bad experience with lockaid. they told me they were coming to change 4 locks in the morning, arrived at lunch just when things are busy and people in and out. The locksmith was rude and managed to change 2 locks and was changed 2 hours for this! i have since had no choice but to pay as they change fixed rate on call outs. when i called later to speak to the manager they refused to give me the name and were very rude.
i agree with the last emailer, rather make sure you get a company that won't charge you to look at what you have before the job is done!

Hi,
I had an experience with Lockaid, who not only covered my Windsor house, but also my other properties in and around london, and they provided an absolutely amazing service...they were reliable, ontime, reasonable and they knew what they were doing. I also had a double glazing mechanism, and it cost me around 200, but that is the average price anyways...I dont know what you complaining about, at least he had the decency to take advice from a colleague, instead of doing a bodge job!!!! Sometimes we tend to look negative before we look at the positive....yes 200+ is a lot of money, but cheaper than replacing the whole door eh? Happy with Lockaid, FULL RECOMENDATION!!

You experience is not the only one.... looks like the locksmiths are the new extortionate plumbers. My experience was with LOCKAID, who served the Berkshire area.... what a lot of cowboys they were...
I was charged 230- for no more than 40mins work , 15mins of that time was him asking his mate how to do the job!! The job was to replace the key mechanism out of a double glazed door. (not the barrel, but the turning mechanism).
He said there was no call out charge bu twhen I wanted to get other quotes, he said it was no charge "to cancel " a call-out..... what?!
So I was forced to pay him, ....
My advice, never let someone come out immediately and get a few quotes first for the job... they all vary and try your best not to commit to the guys who first comes round... I know it's difficult.
AND NEVER PAY THE MONEY UP FRONT LIKE I DID!! I REALLY REGRET THAT>
