- you have won �300 of cds - I also received this text and rather than pay �1.50 per min to call I thought I would look at the site to see what it was all about. I was unable to access it - it came up as a “forbidden” page. I did a search for “fgkl” and this was how I found the Grumbletext site. Thankfully my partner has always advised me to check these sort of things out online first so I am glad that I took his advice. What a pain - I dread to think how many people may have already called the premium rate number.

posted) - however we have posted it up for you now.
In answer to your query there are a couple of main ways they might have got his number. Firstly, they may have bought a list compiled by someone else - there is a good chance these lists will become a lot more difficult to use with new regulations coming in this October - it could be that your husband gave his number to even quite a large reputable company and wasn't aware that, by NOT ticking a checkbox for example, he had allowed the company to let 'trusted third parties' etc contact him with relevant promotions - of course, we think it's pretty easy to argue that this wouldn't be a relevant promotion!
But secondly, a lot of these companies just have computer programs to simply guess what are likely to be real mobile numbers and send out to them willy-nilly without your permission.
Helping to get this rubbish under control is what SOS SMS on Grumbletext is trying to do, and the fact that you found us shows how the site helps warn people against responding hence denting the revenues of the companies which send this stuff out. Thx
