These text messages are common, it seems that companies set up server that generate random numbers. This is, or should be, against UK law as far as I'm concerned (Data Protection Act, as it's personally identifiable information?). I cannot track them down, seeing as the number they're texting me on is business, it's rather annoying to have messages like this spamming me when I'm working. Best bet is to ignore them, if they irritate you that much, phone your service provider (network operator) and ask them about unsubscription details if you did reply, they should have them to hand. If you want to go further still, try and find out who they are and join my anti-spam quest... E-mail me on puddz666 {at} yahoo.com with any information about these companies if you can please! PoBox2TW1150ppm Received this very irritating message at 21.30 on 18/08/04, message dated 19/08/04 @ 01.57, just three weeks after changing my mobile to a new number and company (o2) to stop the receipt of spam texts. I changed my mobile after being charged in the region of �12 over two months on my previous number for the same messages as above (even when the sim card was no longer in the phone). This time I have not given out my number to any companies, not used WAP or GPRS, and not asked for any ring tones as I was advised by my previous suppplier (t-mobile) that this was how these spammers get hold of your number. T-mobile were unable to help me stop these spams on my previous number, even though they paid the 'third party services' to someone. Like many others on this site, I am fed up with being charged �1.50 a time for texts I do not want and have not asked for, and cannot believe I now have to contact yet another company's customer service team to try and stop this happening, which will probably get me precisely nowhere. Incidentally, the only common denominator between my two mobiles is the supplier Carphone Warehouse, situated in Essex where Com UK is also based........
